You probably don’t remember my new years resolution, but I certainly do. It’s the first resolution I feel I have put into practice, truly focused on and believed in. As a refresher, my 2019 focus is all about loving my strong body that carries me over many miles.
As a teacher, coach, and once chubby lil nugget, I am done endorsing companies that say “once size fits most.” We aren’t most, and we don’t want to be most, we are all perfectly different. I don’t want your Skinny Pop, Skinny Cow, or Skinny Girl. I want to celebrate my quads, my tummy, and my cheeks. I want to celebrate how we are all distinct, all beautiful, and most importantly how we are all angels, not just just those on the Victoria Secret runway.
We dare to bare is an event held by the Movemeant Foundation that is spearheading change, growth, and development in middle school curriculum to promote empowerment, and self love(hello physiKIDs!).
Saturday was the annual San Francisco fitness festival where hundreds of males and females came together to support our body, spirit, and skin through a series of fitness classes. We bared our bellies, our smiles, and our love for one another.

So why do I dare to bare? Who do I do it for? I do it for her:

…and her

…and her

I dare to bare because without the memories of being told in Kids Gap that I can only shop in the ‘husky’ section by a sales woman, without the memories of being in the grocery store and other moms asking my mother what she was going to do with me, and without the confidence my mother instilled on me, consistently reminding me I am going to be a stud athlete, I wouldn’t be the fierce, incredible Cait that stands today on a podium everyday celebrating the run.
