We all have experienced the orange knees, Cheeto colored arms, and streaks on streaks. Winter, Spring, or Summer, I am here to share with you how to perfect the art of the full body fake tan. There may be a stigma associated with having a fake tan, however I believe it is the safest, healthiest and smartest way to have golden skin. I am a person who can lay out and get darker naturally, however I am unsure why I would lay out in the sun with all the information given about the dangers of UV rays. As runners we show a lot of skin, and I am feeling my best self when every inch of my body reads glowing goddess.
How do I do it? It’s not Jergens, it’s not St. Tropez, it is Loving Tan and Isle of Paradise. You can purchase both on Amazon if you need next day delivery, but I recommend buying it directly from their site for best value. Yes, it’s a pricey product, but it’s the same price as one spray tan in a salon for months of product. I purchase the 2 hour express mousse in Dark and the Dark facial drops but feel free to select your color based on your skin’s pigment.

Body:
Step 1: exfoliate, scrub, remove any color that was from a previous tan and all dead skin. You can use a towel or a luxurious scrub.
Step 2: shave, some choose to shave their arms as well, but I just shave my legs and it works great.
Step 3: apply moisturizer to any dry areas on body, I moisturize my ankles, knees, elbows and collar bones.
Step 4: Apply. I use a St. Tropez mitt and apply with circular movements all over my body to prevent streaking.
Step 5: Allow to dry and avoid getting wet at all costs.
Step 6: Shower it all off the next morning after your run, the product says you can shower after 2 hours but I wait until the next day for best results.

Face:
Step 1: ditch the mitt, grab your face moisturizer, I use Super Goop’s SPF Moisture.
Step 2: in the palm of my hand combine some moisturizer and 5 drops of Isle of Paradise tanning drops.
Step 3: rub all over face and neck.
Step 4: allow to dry for about 5 minutes before applying powder-based makeup.
*be sure to scrub your hands after the entire process so you don’t have orange hands!!*
